300 is wonderful as wonderful is, for other reasons brave heart!
I can't find the best, they stand together on the pole position.
Of course for different reasons, I think. In brave heart the great actor, director, (genius!) Mel Gibson showed how great he could be.
In 300 you discover a world in a movie.
The leitmotiv of both of them is value!
And what about a comparison between the last part of the movie Conan the barbarian (remember his discourse to Crom, his god) and
300. Of course there is another level (a fantasy movie is nothing compared to an historical one), but I think it stands. bye

I really think that at first those two films are different even by film effects and the story.. The 300 is the story of a myth and the brave heart is documentary film.. the 300 is more similar to a film (which name I can't remember), that main characters are defending a beast that most of French population though it was a wolf but instead it was a beast created within the chambers of those who were close to king.
Those effects are different.. because even a perception of man changes.. we look now in much greater range on things that happen around us.. Even if the 300 is a myth.. you can't say that it didn't happen.. like the 20.000 miles into the sea :)

300 is a nice movie, but I dont think is the best, the story is too simple. what attract the audiences is the special effects. When I look back to while story, there not so much to say about the actors, what I remember is the blade and shields, blood anf hile of bodys.

i go for 300 as 300 is an absolutely terrific movie. the attitude, the valour the spartans display send a chill down my spine. so much to keep their honour. they challenged and even demured a person who projected himself as god. i think they were bogged down by the wrong priests who just had no respect for these warriors. my personal favorite line in the movie when the king says : SPARTANS NEVER RETREAT!!!!!!!!!!. the greatest sequence when the king as a young lad fights the beast and also , when he kicks the intruder into the well..
