For all you Wiccans out there, did you celebrate the most recent holiday, Beltane, May day, celebrated after sunset of April 30 into May 1)? This holiday is celebrated on May 1, but is recognized on May 5. Beltane is the last of three spring fertility festivals, and is where you yourself, and nature, prepare for the warm days to come. This is a time for love, union, and of course, the Maypole. Pick a particular tree in your yard and decorate it with ribbons and bows. This holiday is celebrated to represent the unity of the God and Goddess. You can decorate your house with a bowl of floating flowers and white floating candles. I prefer using fresh flowers from my yard, although many species of flowers do not sprout in early spring, you can still find a few. Baskets of flowers picked just before dawn, in the presense of the Moon Goddess and the presense of the Sun God. Place them anywhere in your home. There are many different options of how to celebrate. What did you do to celebrate Beltane? I just did a little rite to honour the God and Goddess. What did you do?
