I think that part of being a parent is reliving your childhood through your children. There are things that I wanted to do as a child that my parents wouldn't allow me to do. Now I get to do these things with my children. It is like having a second childhood without having to do school all over again.

I find myself doing that more and more with my daughter. She is still really young at only 18 months. But she is now at the point where she absolutely loves to go play outside. I love taking her to the park, playing on the playground, swinging, blowing bubbles...just pretty much anything we can do outdoors. We have been having so much fun now that it's warming up outside. And sometimes I feel like a kid again when I'm playing with her. Well until she absolutely wears me out from running all over the place lol.

I just finished spending 3 1/2 hours living through my kids. I coach their soccer teams and I think sometimes I get more excited than they do. But when I was growing up my parents never had time or interest to involve me in any sports or hobbies, so I made it a point when I had my own kids I was going to be better than they were. I still play on the swings at the park, etc...not only does it make me feel good, it helps create trust with my kids. I don't know if I'd want to be a kid "full time" again, but it's nice to let loose and get to their level once or twice a week.
