Election of the local officials from Senatoriables down to Barangay Official s fast approaching.... But while it is getting closer I see and heard of many killings from their bodyguards to the running officials.... they are claiming that running competitor is to be blame of their death???? Some are taking it in another way, which is exchanging of harsh and hard words to each other... Shameful right? or NO??? What is your opinion??? Why are these things happening???

It's not shameful. It's normal. Politics is a contest for power, and believe me, everybody will do anything if having control of the government is on the line. It's been like that way for centuries. Rome was the epitome of classical Politics. roman senators hadn't have any qualms killing Julius Caesar in the forum. Emperors were poisoned and assasinated just to wrest from them the control of the government. US politics wasn't as clean before as it is today. Killings were also common way back then (see gangs of new york). Our style of Politics is just normal. we only achieved complete self-government in 1946 and in a sense our politics here is still immature. we just need to wait for things to settle down, for our politics to mature, and for our politicians to act more civil and more respectful of both their competitors and of the process itself. :)
