i love it i want to live there but money dictates as usual and i am too much of a coward to give up a council house and the NHS :( i have just had the best 6mths there and only got down near south for 3 wks (Ko Chang). i was in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai and Pai. the people are incredible the climate (while i was there) was incredible except the weeks i went to Ko Chang because the pollution had taken over the north. it is ok again now so no worries. i worked in the hills for a voluntry organisation www.mirrorartgroup.org a group of really passionate thais looking out for their people and the hilltribes. i spent a bit of time in Pai in a bamboo hut waking up and opening the door at 7am to the sun coming over the mountain while a laid back in bed. just 150bht a night that was so cool.
