Here in the Philippines, mangoes are in abundance. It is now our official national fruit, by the way. Our best variety is the carabao or the Philippines Super Mango as they are called in the international market. This variety is already expensive outside of the country, which could cost around $3 per pound in retail (Hawaii price). If you happen to be in my coountry, it is still affordable except during off-season which price could go as twice. Price here is a t P35 per kilo on average.

...you betcha i've eaten mangoes this season. Over here in Britain, they start off expensive but get cheaper as we go deeper into summer. Are they beyond the reach of the common man - in what sense?: geographically?, financially? Browneyed.

i am an ardent mango fan, just cannot do without them. this season i have just begun to consume though. i have srated with gulab khaas. maldai, langra, himsagar, alphonso...will follow soon, just can't wait. my grandma prepares some really yummy mango recipes and the pickles, sweet and sour, she preserves for the whole year, till the next season. we sisters survive on those. happy mango eating magicalangel.

Yes, i have. we are eating it from last one month. yaa, i think that they are beyond the reach of common man because they are pretty expensive, but if a person go and buy it from a super market there one mango is also served , cut into slices and packed . that do not cost much. if you wanna eat you can buy that.

Yes, I have. It's not a very expensive fruit here. It's quite common actually. For those who absolutely love them but don't want to pay high prices, I suggest growing a tree! :)

Mangoes - Ripe mangoes
Hi there! I have eaten mangoes alot nowadays. Well, her ein the Philippines. It is kinda cheap. I have eaten ripe mangoes as dessert after eating lunch and dinner. I have also eaten unripe mangoes together with shrimp paste for snack. I really love mangoes and it's a good thing that it is affordable here. We even get unripe mangoes for free.
