It all depends on what you mean. If you mean that you and the roommate are in the same room, it should be of the same gender.

there's three of us in a room and we dont mind sharing it. picture this, 2 girls and 1 boy. nothing naughty to think of, the three of us blends perfectly.. we call ourselves AWESOME THREESOME..

When I went to university I had a room-mate. My best friend and i shared an apartment. I think that was really great. We never argued about anything. Not like me and my partner - we disagree on lots more around the house than me and my friend did.

I can't live with roommates in a room. I can barely live in the same house with them. It's to much of an invasion of privacy.
