Global warming? more like global freezing at the moment. How's your weather?

I am sitting at my keyboard wearing four layers of clothes and thick socks trying to keep warm. It's the 4th May, when the weather is supposed to be sunny and warm, instead of which I am sitting here looking like an eskimo on an ice flow. The skies are grey, dull and heavy with cloud, the wind is howling around the house and the forecast is for rain, and more rain to come.
Even my cat, Moomin, is curled up in a tight little ball in her bed, I swear she is shivering in her sleep, and now I have had to resort to putting the heating on again in the hope that the house will feel a little less like the interior of the refrigerator.
It's a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK, and it looks like shaping up to be freezing cold and wet, just the kind of weather we don't really want for a public holiday so while I sit and shiver, make me jealous (or not) what's the weather like where you are today?

The weather here in Malaysia has been really hot and humid for the past few weeks. I hate to take a walk even from the parking lotto my office as the heat is really bad this time around. I have no idea whether this is the affect of global warming or not but one thing that I know is to try to stay indoor as much as I can.

It's fairly warm these days, with occasional cool streaks. I'm glad too, I dislike it being like winter in the spring like it was in April..when it got below freezing and upset the blooming apricot trees..:(

Hi hun, thanks for your comments. It's fairly sunny here today, although still a bit chilly. I can't believe we are almost into June now and the weather is still completely out of whack. :-)

LOL yup and although we have some lovely sunshine today, it's now turning dull, grey and with a cold wind. Time to close the back doors and huddle inside again :-(

Yeah, the weather has been kinda weird. Since last year here-wise anyways. I wonder if maybe they shouldn't have named it global warming, but "The Enviroment Going out of Whack theory"..that'd make more sense, lol.

Hi Hun. So sorry to hear that your in for some crappy weather. I live in Canada so the weather is usually nothing to brag about but it's actually pretty nice here. It's warm, the sun is shining, and it's a little breezy but not howling like what you've got. I have enclosed a pic to send some sun your way. Hang in there hun, the sun will shine once again!

Hey how abt switching places for some time,cause its getting hot here in India day by day.Its 11pm here and still has nearly hot air around and we even dont hav a a/c here still.I hav all the fans of the house switched on(poor things)no rest for them this summer.I would like to hav been to some place cooler even like urs will do for me.
So wat do u say???

We had beautiful weather here all day today. I ended up going to the Arts Festival in Drogheda and we couldn't have asked for fairer weather. The sun was shining, it was bright and clear and warm. My son and husband were both wearing shorts.
I hope some of our good weather heads over your way! I hateit when it is cold and damp.

It's 25C here that's 78F. A lovely sunny day, not too hot. The temps have been in the low 30's and very hot for May. The nights can be cool and the mornings too but it's soon time to take off the cardi and wear a t-shirt.

Yup, it has been a lousy Bank holiday weekend so far as the weather is concerned. I have a load of wet washing now, so much for putting it out on the line :-(

Yes I can feel the heat of the sun nowadays like biting the skin off.Last weekend we went to the beach and my daughter really enjoyed the moment of playing on the sand and swimming all the way even if she doesn't know how to swim.lol.Then I have imagined that when we are still a kid like her age I could play all day under the sun because it's not that hot like this time.

it's a little bit chilly here today but not intolerable.i'm hoping we're finally on the upcycle,but every time i believe it,it gets cold again.
i don't know about global warming,but i'd say there's definetly something wrong with the seasons.
this is the 2nd year it's been out of whack.

It's crazy really, we had bulbs flowering at Christmas and now it feels like it could snow. Moomin looks like a furball today, all fluffed up against the chill. I can't believe how strong the wind is outside too. Mad weather

the weather here is really hot. its great if you're planning to hit the beach or if you want to stay all day in the pool. its 34-37 degrees in here. im wearing the shortest short i have and a very small tank top since its really hot today.

Ah, if only I could swap with you. I'd like a nice cold weather just about now. It's summer here in the Philippines. It's almost over, but the heat is still tremendous. It's like being in an oven all day long, even at night. Even with air conditioning, I still need an electric fan to be comfortable. When I go out, the sun is searing through my jeans. It's that hot. Wanna swap? The rainy days are coming though. In about 2 weeks. But I'd like to experience having to wear four layers of clothing 'coz we never had that here, being in a tropical country and all. I was seriously considering living in our freezer a couple of weeks ago. It's about as big as my bed.

OK do you have some weird sort of microclimate in Birmingham? please don't say that i might be moving there soon. Anyway here in the South it is absolutely boiling, unbroken blue skies (well not now its night but in the daytime it was blue) So i say to you get on that M42 and get down to the south Coast and make the most of all this fantastic weather we have been stealing from the rest of europe.

LOL I don't think it's a microclimate just darn unlucky today being stuck in the middle of two weather fronts :-( I may just hit the M42 and get the heck out of the city for the weekend hun :-)

really!! i just cannot imagine. ours is a hot, sultry climate with perspiration spoiling your sanity. its about 38 degrees in my place and i cannot beat the heat outside. inside is advisable and its unimaginable how the daily wagers are digging outside. lucky me, with the AC on, only sighing at their fate.
i guess, its quite unlikely of UK to flaunt this cold weather at this point in year. feed yourself with some hot drink and put some more fur on moomin,she must be a darling!!

Blimme were we in the same country?? This week has been red hot here in Devon like all week up until yesterday when it started to get a little cooler and well like you say for bank holiday Monday it's just started to rain here!

You wouldn't think we were in the same country, I had a call from a friend up in York who said it was freezing cold and raining. Later on I spoke to my son down in Kent who said he had been out in the garden minus his shirt. Crazy or what

The weather here today is chilly, overcast, foggy and a little misty...suppose to get rain today and then sun tomorrow but I am still waiting for spring to hit this newfie rock...it still feels like winter hasnt left here yet..my mom is in ontario with my sister and the temp there today is like 20 and they are going bare arms and flipflops on their feet..and yes I am a little jealous about it...we dont get really warm springs or summers but it seems like its been cold on this rock now for what seems forever...

Well, I live in Los Angeles, California; the sun is almost always shining. And today is no exception. In fact, the weather today is perfect. It's about 70 degrees. In my opinion, that is PERFECT weather. Not too hot and not too cold.
I was born in Winnipeg, Canada. It gets pretty cold there. BITTER cold. I moved here at the age of 5 so I have not experienced life in a cold climate. Some people love it. They like SEASONS. And there's certainly something to be said for that. We don't get a sense of seasonal change here in LA.
I personally LOVE the warm weather; I've become very spoiled. I don't think I could be happy living in a cold climate. A rainy day now and then is just about all I can take.

Hi, recycledgoth, our weather here right now is rainy. It sometimes rain heavily and there is thunder. It rains early in the wee hours and sometimes it rains the whole day. For us here, it is not convenient to go out especially if it is a heavy downpour. Last month it was very very dry and hot. A lot of people get sick. Thankfully, it only lasted for one month and now it is wet season, it is quite cold at night but I think it is not as cold as your country.

It looks like we will have a mini wet season over the weekend, although the garden could probably benefit from the rain. It's cold at night here at the moment thanks hun
