It's been a long time that we have waited this one. The result of our application for Australia to be with my mother. I have not seen her for about 4 years now and i feel very happy for this. God is really good. I am excited and at the same time feeling sad coz i will surely miss Philippines....Wish i will have a good life there and i can adopt to their culture easily....

Hello, joice, that mean you are migrating to australia permanently? You do not need to worry so much in australia, I think it may not be much different with your country, i mean you can still find some food you want to eat as australia is more 'easternized' and there are lots of asian people here. Good luck.

I am here in Melbourne. Yeah, me too, I miss the Philippines so much. I miss my simple and uncomplicated life there. How easy going it is but then I realize I have to move on and make something out of my life because I am not getting any younger anymore...But I am going back in the Philippines next year... I really miss it so much...

You will love it here joice and since we are getting some well needed rain it will hopefully be all nice and green the way it should be by the time you get here. Also our dams start filling up would also be great. Our culture is definately very different and quite laid back, but if you become interested in Football and the AFL make sure you follow the best team, which is Geelong, the Cats! lol

Let me welcome you to Australia (even though you have not arrived yet). Which city will you be living in? Reuniting with your mother must be exciting for you. Have a safe journey and may your new beginnings bring you joy.

I was checking on my updated friends' list here in mylot to see who among them are still active until now. Just for info, you are the sixth in the list. I thought of scanning the discussions you created to know if I could reply to some of them and share my views. Then I stumbled on this particular discussion and I had mixed emotions while reading your post. Admittedly, I also planned to go abroad but unlike you, it was more for a living particularly for me and my own family. Eventually, I would also make a petition for them to be with me abroad making us migrants, I guess. But thinking about it, I'm a bit sad because I'll be leaving my loved ones here in our country. I had to say that I was far away from my parents in the province since I studied here in the city at the age of five. They would visit me a few times each year but still, I do miss being with the whole family including my parents and siblings. However, with the global economic crisis looming over the horizon, I felt that I had to cancel or postpone my plans for the meantime. I was quite half-hearted on my plan and I felt that this is God's way of telling me to stay here in the Philippines for a while. Anyway, regarding your scheduled trip to Australia, I sincerely wish the best for you and your family there. Even as kids, my female cousin and I had plans of coming over to that place to treat ourselves to a tour. But by now, I know you're already over there because I've just noticed that you created this discussions a couple of years back. And, I've seen from your profile that you've been inactive for sixty days already. Hope to hear from you soon, friend. God bless.

Congrats! I am glad you will be reunited with your mother. I would LOVE to go to Australia, I hope you really enjoy it. I know a few people from Australia, and if they are any representative of the culture - they are a ton of fun and so very friendly, you should love it there!

WOW!!! This is a huge move!! What an adventure is ahead of you! I hope it all goes smoothly for you and that you enjoy every minute of your new life. With your mother there, I think you'll find that you'll miss the Philippines less than you think you will. Home is where the heart is. Besides, you can always go back and visit! Good Luck!!!! Stay in touch, too! We'll all want to know how it's going for you!
