I have looked into several of the newest diets but haven't found one that I can stick with that is reasonable for the whole family. I have purchased the Bob Greene's Fit for Life, You on a Diet, Adkins Diet, South Beach Diet. They all sound good but the overall implementation of them doesn't work when you are on a busy schedule. Is there one that is realistic?

I think the raw food diet, and a diet rich in fresh organic food is probably going to be the healthiest.

i am in the process of losig weight. i have the best life diet book. I agree with half of what he says. Try to do some sort of exercise walk up teh stairs at work, walk around the block, try to move more. The second thing, this is a common miconception eating before bedtime is not a bad thing. It is what you eat that matters. however I still try to not eat two hours before bed. Third, Meal planning. With a busy life I have found that sitting down once a week and planning meals has not only made dinner easier, but grocery shopping easier. Fourth, drink lots of fluids. i personally don't like soda, but try one soda a day or my favorite drink two glasses of water for every soda you drink. fifth, portion sizes I know this is a hard one. All I can say is try to watch how much you put on your plate. Try three small meals a day and two snacks. buy fruits and veggies you can pop in your mouth. Other than that I try to take small things from all teh diets and apply them how they fit.
