ok this is going to sound yucky..sorry in advance. my 16 month old is pooping this atomic looking green poop. it is almost glowing in the dark. this is the third time today that he pooped this color. anyone else ever have to deal with a strange color of poop in your baby's diaper?? i have 4 kids, he is my baby, and i dont recall ever seing such a green poop before. he doesnt seem bothered or sick so i am wondering if he ate something to turn his poop this color. any suggestions?? (funny how when you are a parent you will openly talk about the color of ones poop, isnt it??)

That is so funny! I think other mom's can relate! My son's poop was a weird green last week too, it was like two different kinds of green, almost like play-doh. I kept looking at it wondering why it was that color =) Then I threw it in the trash and still wondered what he ate to make it such a fnunky green color!! It must be a little boy thing =)

i believe that this is a common thing which has been happening to my babies. nothing to worry about it. the food that they had ingested has a lot ot do with htis.

My son has a different color of poop too. It is maybe of the vitamins that he took that change its color. The color of it is closed to black and gray but the doctor said it is normal. I think your child is okay because his condition is good despite of the color of the poop.

It can be something that she ate, it doesn't always come back out the same color it went coming in lol. If she doesn't seem sick, it's fine. My son had greenish stools when he was on a dairy-only kick, he wouldn't eat anything but yogurt and drank a lot of milk. Once he had more variety it went back to brown.

It can be something he ate, but doesn't have to. Check out the following page for more info about green feces: http://ibdcrohns.about.com/cs/otherdiseases/a/greenstools.htm

Sorry no suggestions, but I do have to agree with you that it is funny what parents will talk about. LOL Also, your headline and description made me almost poop from laughing so hard. I sure hope you get the problem solved soon.

This is really funny and yet I feel so warm inside because I'm also thinking of my own baby. This is just how mothers do I guess. Before I had my baby I always tell myself that I really can't stand changing diapers. I'm so afraid that I might vomit at the sight and smell of it. But when Nate was born everything else changed. I didn't even recall having those thoughts. It just comes out naturally to me that I had to be the one to change his diaper. I've got to be the one because i'm his mother. Being a mother is really a great and wonderful thing. It just changes your life. Going back to the poop part, my pedia says its just normal for them to have green poop. But of course to be sure you have to have a chat with your pedia about it. :)

for children to be having this color in their poop is quite common. it has something to do with whatever it is that they have ingested. at times, what has caused this to happen is the vitamins that the baby has been taking. the vitamins has caused this effect in all of my babies before. the doctor said that there was nothing to worry about. each child may have a different reaction from those of the others with the food and vitamins that they take.
