Racism - Is it really necessary?

Racism, which takes a number of forms, is a complex phenomenon involving a whole range of economic, political, historical, cultural, social, and psycholocigal factors. It's generally a tool used by certain groups to reinforce their political and economic power, the most serious cases being those involving aparthied and genocide.
Racism exists in all parts of the world. Violence, even genocide against indigenous groups, has become endemic in many countries. Racism is often aggravated by international systems backed by powerful economic and military factors. Immigration policies and practices discriminate on the basis of race in many parts of Europe, Asia, and North America. Education policies deny equality of opportunity and employment on the ground of race.
Under the dictatorship of Hitler in Germany, racism was made the official ideology of facism and was used to justify the invasion of foreign territory, the physical annihilation of millions of people, and the incarceration, torture, and execution of German antifascists in concentration camps. Similar racist practices were carried out by Japanese militarists in China and other Asian countries, and by Italian fascists in Ethiopia, Albania, and Greece. The practice of aparthied in South Africa is the most well known present-day example of a policy based on inequality of race.
~Now, I ask you.. Where is the sense in all of this? Are we not all human beings? Do we not breathe the same, sleep the same, bleed the same? Why does racism still exist after all these years? Racism, in my opinion, is very unnecessary. Take a look at all of the hate crimes that happen on any given day, and ask yourself how the world would be, if racism didn't exist.
Along with racism comes stereotyping - which means, in this case - if you're a certain race, you act a certain way in some people's eyes. Why don't people give others a chance as individuals, instead of grouping them in with that particular race, according to things that their ancestors have done before? It's not fair to anyone.
What are your views on racism and stereotyping?

Not at all. It can be done to please onself but only to a limit that the person does not feel bad. I dont oppose it but its depends how dirty it can become

I think racism is very bad. Even though I don't know many racists... or any at all, we still think its funny to make racist jokes. EVen some of the other races love to hear those jokes, you'd be suprised. But I think its also offensive, and you have to be careful what you say and do. But yes, I frown upon racism.
