Are you a courteous driver? some people just don't know how too drive. My sister didn't learn how to drive untill se got in her 40's. I am still lery of her driving. Are you a good driver? I try to have patience you got to have patience when you on the road, you can't be in a hurry, My girl-friend scares me the way she drives, she gets up close behind a car, I told her she should not do that. because what is the person in front of here get in a accident, she would run smack dap into the other car, that is dangerous. I told her she still won't listen.

driving - i drove car for the first time when i was 18 years old
Hello, marciascott,I was 18 years old when i drove a car for the first time, although my brother was sitting beside me,it was pretty scary as I always afriad of hitting somebody's car and need to compensate for it,I had paid extra attention when i was driving closed to some expensive cars and I was really cautious when i was parking,i did not want to hit another car and left a scratch on their cars.

Scraches and den marks doesn't look too good on a car. it mess up the whole appearance of a car. don't you think I use to be accident prone, well now I am not. I drive safely and pay close attention on what I am doing.

I don't like to drive, I started disliking it when I moved to a big city and didn't need a car and took public transportation for several years, ever since then I have not had a car, going on 6 years now. My boyfriend drives us everywhere, he scares me to on his driving, I tell him for such a mellow car he drives like a bat out of he$$, I try to close my eyes and just not look, I hate back seat drivers.

The first time i tried to drive a car was when i was 11yrs old..it was a bmw from my dad's company that had come in for servicing and a guy at the workshop got me in. But since i couldn't reach the pedals i drove it using the cruise control button. Actually the only thing i did was sit in the drivers seat. The gyu had his hands an the steering wheel . :) My real driving experience came when i was 15yrs old and it was ona honda city 1.5exi. Great car i must say for it's price segment.

I started to drive when I was 16 too. I didn't get my license for a long time, I always kept a permit though. I feel I am a very good driver, my passengers are always comfortable with me driving.

Believe it or not, I am 42 and I don't have any desire to drive. I have never even tried. Heck I don't really know how to start a car.lol. I don't like being a passenger in a car either. People drive like maniacs sometimes.

haha.. when i first drive a car.. i'm just 17.. and it's very common here to drive at 17.. we are able to obtain a driving license at 17.. and i'm not a courteous driver.. i had many minor accient.s. but luckily for me.. i didn't pay for any damage done...i've been trying hard to be a good driver.. but can you say that a good driver won't meet an accident? i think accident can also caused by other party. .and it is really impossible to avoid it at times... we just can try our best to avoid all accidents.. right? .. yep.. i agree with you.. what your sis is doing right is very dangerous to herself and to others.. you must show her some example i think.. haha =)

I was fortunate enough to get a vocation in the military that required a driving license. So I was sent for training and after 5 weeks I was certified to drive cars, trucks and trucks above 7 tonnes before my 20th birthday. Getting my civilian license when I finally got round to it at 22 was a breeze.

I learned how to drive when I was 16. I am a cautious driver, there's way too many drivers in Tampa, Florida. Especially now, lots of tourists and northerners come this way. I hope your friend don't be taught a lesson the hard way by actually being liable in an accident. That could really get expensive. All my best, Jerryn

The first time I drove a car is not a long time ago! It's this year. I just got my driver's license and I am 40. I never thought about having a car when I lived in Paris and then in Montreal. The public transportation was really good and I used the metro and the buses. You get to places even faster with public transportation than with a car. Since I moved to California I see that I really need a car otherwise I will not be able to get around easily. California is so spread out!

I think I was 16 years old also. My stepfather, bless his heart, kept telling me I needed more experience and so I failed my driving test the first time because I ran a red light that I didn't see. Once I got my license though I have always strived to be a courteous driver. I can't stand it when people drive right on my bumper because they think I'm driving to slow when I'm driving the speed limit. It also irritates me when I'm in town and people blow their horn because they think I'm going to slow. I'd much rather take a little bit of extra time and be safe than sorry. I have stressed this to my daughter also. One time I was in town at a red light and suddenly it turned green. I had not even had time to take my foot off the brake when the person behind me started blowing their horn. The most aggravating part about it was he was only turning on the very street right at the red light!!

I think I learn to drive a car at the age of 17. My brothers taught me. But they were so impatient and so perfectionist. I haven't learn much from them. I really learn to drive our car with my mom. And she is my role model when it comes to driving. She is so patient and she is an excellent driver. And now that I drive for her, it makes me feel nervous and honor. I'm so cautions in driving that sometimes, she said I'm too slow.~~lol But safety is the best policy. At least, compare to my brothers I'm more cautious. So my parents have less headaches with me driving. Have a nice day Marcia! (^^,)

I don't have driving licence ... but my brother tried to teach me driving in his very old car :) it was some years ago ... and i was something like 14 years old maybe. But soon i think i'm gonna go on course to make driving licence because it's quite comfortable to be wherever you are anytime you want :)
