I think the accoustic versions have their pros and cons, recently a lot of the bands I listen to have put acoustic versions of their hits on their cds along with the original versions. For example, 'Breaking Benjamin' with 'so cold', I thought the original version was great, but the acoustic version is way overrated in my opinion. Another band I like is '10 years' who you probably haven't heard of, but you've probably heard their big song 'wasteland', they released an acoustic version of wasteland and I thought it was pretty good, but still not as good as the original. I know this really wasn't what you were asking about, but felt like sharing anyways

I like acoustic because it sounds more natural just the wood and the strings and the sound. My favorite genre is different but excellent in both types.. blues. Blues is the best.
