Word count in a word document.

I write articles for a website regularly. The word count of the article should range between three hundred to five hundred. How do I get word count in a word document? Is there a way to keep the word count display active for all the documents?

i dont think so its always active in world functions there is world of world count u can do

I have words 2002. In this version you can go to Tools and in the drop menu select word counts. It will give you statistics for the current document: pages, words, characters (no spaces), characters (with spaces), paragraphs, lines. For other versions I would think that it is the same.
