I am currently an associate engineer in the networking field and will most probably get my CCNA certification this year. However I recently came across an affordable certification course in 3D animation which is really my interest but didn't pursue since the local market was not big enough. Now it is really expanding. Do you guys think it would be wise for me to take the animation certification or upgrade my certifications in networking?

i think when ever you get your ccna certificate after that i sugest you to do ccnp and ccnt because these courses are very valuable you make lots of money to do these courses and you got very good jobs in IT sectors so i think you do this.

I agree with deepal_shinde84 suggestion, it best for you that you have a spesialist field like ccnp and ccnt it will fill your pocket with lot of money and lots of company will considering you in high quality for their company candidate, it also good if you take 3d exam and doing some spare time jobs as long it don't bother your real jobs, you still need money for a living except your spare time job income is already surpass you monthly salary in your primary job

First of all, in the IT industry the goal is to have multiple certifications. This is what employers look for and it also gives you more options, job and careerwise. However, if you have the time and enjoy the field, I would recommend that you go for the 3D animation certification which would give you another career option in IT. You might even be able to do some part-time work in that field to establish yourself in it. Is there someway you can do some work from home in your spare time in the 3D area? This is what I am doing with writing, only in my case, I have the option for early retirement in a couple of years and am looking to get something else started on the side so I can retire and still support myself doing something I like.

Thanks for your response. I was already contemplating to do some part-time work even without the certification and thought taking the certification would eventually mean moving into the 3D animation field fully. Now that you pointed out about the multiple certifications, I no longer feel that either of my certifications would go to waste.
