How's this for persistence? At last a 93-year old writer discovers success. It's a pity his wife didn't live to see him achieve his goal. http://tinyurl.com/25pnx5 So for all writers thinking of giving up, just remember it can happen. I just hope I can achieve this before I'm 93 :)

I started writing my first book a few years ago. I hope I don't have to wait until I'm 93 to see it published.

Oh, I hope I don't have to wait that long either - I'm just over halfway there! And I would like some time to actually enjoy being published. Good luck, my friend!

My favorite part of the article was when the journalist describes how he's been a struggling writer since the early 1930's and how he's become a literary legend. That amazes me how, as you've said, persistence really CAN pay off. I guess if we really want to succeed, we can . . . eventually. Thank you for posting this link - it's certainly inspired me to keep going.

What an inspiration this writer is for all budding writers. It might have taken him a long time to achieve what he set out to do, but he has proven to all the doubters that persistence does pay off. My hat is doffed to him for this remarkable achievement too. Although I am not a writer, I can still appreciate what he has done. This is regardless of his age, but perhaps as he aged he also became a little more determined. For all the budding writers out there, I hope that you can all reach that pinnacle and of course it would be nice if it happened before you are aged 93. If not before that age, then still that you reach the pinnacle.

My son (11) has always wanted to grow up and become an author, he has been writting a story for nearly 4 years and only has 26 pages, but its very emaginative and he is very good at making new things for his little friend up. Im hoping he'll finish it before I turn 93...

Well he certainly has persevered! Good on him. Finding this in someone so young is not easy. I wish him the best of luck in his endeavours.
