Entertainment Tonight,Extra and others alike are they entertainment shows or Gossip shows? I persoanlly think they are a bit of both! What do you think? I think they definitely cross the line on many occasions. For instance just because someone released a personal video tape of David Hasseloff does that make it entertainment? Not in my book? A very personal picture of Diane Keaton was taken by the poperotzy does that mean it is considered entertain to be used by a entertainment show like ET? Not to me it doesn't! I have no desire to see that kind of thing on a entertainment show. I dont' watch those shows for the gossip. I watch to see what new movies are coming out, interviews, updates on what certain stars are doing like where they are performing that kind of thing. I don't want to know the dirt on their lives. If this is going to be the main theme of these shows then I will have to stop watching them all together! Really people don't you feel like your intruding on someone's privacy when certain things are revealed into the news world that shouldn't be. Would you want personal and embarassing situations put out there for the world to see? I dont' think so! I know I wouldn't!

I used to respect ET more, it seemed that they were buddies with the stars and presented them in a way they wished to be presented.... and interviewed them etc, that was interesting to me...but to exploit them without their approval, without their knowledge possibly - well that is just wrong. That to me seems malicious and gossipy. It seems their intent is to shock us by ridiculing the stars. I am not much into the "stars lifes" that I desire all the stinkin details - I have enough details in my own life to concern myself with, you know?
so much hoopla over such private things. we all have our skeletons in the closet and would do well to practice the old lesson of "do unto others as you would have them do unto you"

Yes I totally agree. I use to love this show.. I liked all the updates on what was happening in the entertainment world. But they have sold themselves out as far as I am concerned. They have lost my respect and my viewer ship much of the time in this past 6 months but after tonight i will say that it is complete. I am one less viewer!
