I know this is an odd question but now im curious since i have just woken up from the longest sleep i ever have experianced in my life. I was dumb enough to accept the position of "team leader" at my work which basically is team manager when i own manager isnt there. While this pays more i have learned this week the hard way it also means i will be working a chaotic schedule. I have been working 1pm's till 12 am's then coming back in at 4 or 5 am till 2 or 3 pm. In the past week i have worked about 78 hours with close to 11 hours of sleep total for the entire week. Today is my day off thank God! I got home from work yesterday at 2:30 got a shower and passed out by 4pm. I just woke up about 20 minutes ago thinking it was still yesterday untill i realized it was 8:30 am and not pm. WOW i have been sleeping for about 16 hours straight! Thats a record by far for me. Whats the longest you have ever slept and what caused it?

I have fallen asleep on a Friday evening once around 7pm or so and waking up about at 10pm.... not to strange you'd say right? It appeared to be Saturday though :P. The week before that I had like about 5 hours of sleep in total though, was a week away with school so lots of partying and such and sleep just wasn't part of the schedule.

i love sleeping- actually, its one of my favourite hobbies. as i dont stay alone, i have to be woken up.i generally wake up by 1-1.30 in the afternoon on holidays, but given a chance i can slep 16-18 hrs comfortably.

I agree. I adore sleeping. Its sucha sweet feeling curling up on a nice soft bed. Sadly i dont get to enjoy it anymore as much as i would like to due to my job. Im lucky some nights to get 3 hours. Givin the fact i live about 35 minutes from my work and get retarded schedules like 2pm till 12 am then be sheduled for 4 or 5am the next morning. Dunno how much longer im gonna go for that though.

The longest I ever slept was in college; after three days of partying my body called quits. I passed out in my friends bed around five in the morning and woke up seven at night, just in time to realize I missed dinner. Knowing there would be no food left, I rolled over and caught another two hours and ordered Chinese when I woke up. Needless to say, three days of partying like that would kill me now!

I agree. Partying does take alot out of you. Heck im still sort of young, early 20's and i cant even take it for long periods any more. I used to be a pro at it going for days in a row, but not any more. Must be gettin old i guess!

I have gone to bed at 8 at night then woke up the next day at 4 in the afternoon. I had just had my first daughter and my ex was no help. She had her nights and days mixed up. My sister helped by taking her for the weekend, so I got some sleep.

Yes newborns. ONe of the largest consumers of energy but the most worth while. I can relate to you on that although i havnt had any children of my own yet, it seems everyone around me is having kids this year. Its alot of work and strenuous effort especially all the mid night wake ups and the whole nine. My sympathies go out to you.

Long hours of sleep that occurred is when I went to sleep in the afternoon around 4.30 I slept through night till next morning. The previous night I was working till the following day to about 3 pm I guess if after a long night and day and when we go to bed in the late following afternoon or early evening the chances are that we will sleep through the night.

I agree, similar to my schedule situation which spanned over a week. Sadly im gearin up for another similar week this week, but i am not as fortuniate to have 2 consecutive days off this time, and better yet i got 9 days straight to look forward to untill my next day off. Theres gotta be a better way, this job schedule is probably sapping some years out of my life span. At this rate i'll be grey haired at 25

Hi, it sounds as if you are being abused by the mob that you work for, but, if the money is good and you think you can handle it for a while, go for it. I have actually slept for several days. This happens every now and then, mostly I don't sleep at all. PTSD is my friend.

I can sleep 16 hours straight too! But i seldom do that cause sleeping too much would make myself feeling dizzy whole day! Anyway i'm not going to try that anymore. Headache is such a misery thing. lol

Its not an odd question. Everybody works over time and sometimes the over time gets on so long. I have worked 40 hours straight and after that I slept for 11 hours but you sure have a record there of sleeping 16 hours straight. Pretty cool. Applause !!!

Almost 24 hours, 23 hours and a few minutes. The reason was that I finally recouperated after having pneumonia. I thought I had taken a nap and was on the same day until my Mom called and asked why I hadn't called her the day before. I told her I had and found out that it was the next day. Take care

I have to say I once slept for 36 hours and had to be admitted to hospital for dehydration. I was in college and we had a college festival which involved no sleep for a week. By the time I came home for the weekend, I was shattered. My parents were heading awy , I rememebr watching t.v. and then being in the car to the hospital. I honestly felt reborn after I left the hospital.

I think 13 or 14 hours is my record without having taking something to make me sleep. I think I slept longer in the hospital but that was after surgery. I love to sleep though I think I would sleep 10 hours a day if I could
