Do you believe what an ad promises?

My daughter was working on a project for school and the subject matter was beauty in the media and how it personally affects her. She asked me, "Mom, when you look at ad in a magazine, on a billboard or see one on tv, do you believe that the product is going to do what they say??" She says she's skeptical of lipstick that won't budge for hours or creams that will "erase" signs of aging. I admit that I, too, rarely put any stock in an ad's claims. For health and beauty products, I honestly shop more by price than I do by promises. How about you? Do you use any beauty products that really stand up to their claim? If so, which ones?

You know what? Years ago, companies had integrity. They would only state facts in the commercials. Now they lie. It is sad but true, they lie big time and I cant figure out why they are allowed to do this. Does nobody have morals anymore. Do they not feel a sense of pride or do they just think of making money?? I think that is what it all boils down too...money. It is a sad loss for the consumers and very poor role model for children. They are growing up seeing so much that is immoral and dishonest.
