Oh No !! -- Why My Star Rating Has Gone Down By 5 Points Within a Day ?

It was very disheartening for me to see that my Star rating which was 93 yesterday has gone down to 88 today!
This can be because of the fact that there have been lot of spelling mistakes in my recent postings and I was not serious enough in answering the discussions ! I think I deserve this treatment!
Well! Apart from these two asects are there any other things which yopu think I should be really careful about, to keep up my rating score!
Believe me I worked quite hard to grow from somewhere 83 to 93, that took me some weeks for me to achieve! But the down fall came to me within 24 hours!
Your suggestions will be highly appreciated!

Mine fell really far not long ago too. It had been at 98/99 for months, and it went all the way down to 89. Right now it's at 91. In my case it was probably because I said something that offended someone. I reply a lot to things about religion, and occasionally start disucussions on that topic, so that's my best guess.
I'm not really sure what it could have been for you. I checked a couple of your responses and such, and you seem to be doing really well, other than the spelling thing you mentioned. Sorry to hear that your rating is doing poorly.

Thanks Dear Lecanis ! I appreciate the efforts you have taken to check my responses and further responding me! I normally don't hurt any one's feelings deliberately... Any way, lets hope for the best ! So long sincere people like you are there on this forum, people like me really shouldn't really worry about the ratings, as basically we are here to exchange some healthy and nice discussions! You have a good point about other things being more important than the ratings though. I've made some wonderful friends on here, and even if my star is falling, I've very grateful for them. =)

Hello,AKRao,honestly i am not sure why do your rating dropped ,but i have heard that some memebrs even dropped from 98 to 82 in 2 days ,i think it is normal to have fluctutation of rating,may be if you say you have not replied so well, probably someone had marked you negatively.
Anyway,you do not need to worry,just keep up with high quality discussions and replies and I am sure your rating will be increased again,

i think a lot of problems with the reputation rating system is that it is a subjective assessment. Your rating will go down if someone has given you negative ratings. This is why mylot should allow us to see who has given us pluss ratings and who has given us negative ratings

I wouldn't worry too much. It will rise again soon. Mine dropped a while back and it is slowly increasing again!
I think this happens to everyone from time to time. Perhaps you were involved in a topical debate. Perhaps some discussion threads were removed that you had been rated on.
Good luck and don't lose sight of the fact that mylot is meant to be fun as well as earn us a few extra pennys.

Yes! I fully agree with you that we are here on Mylot just for Fun and to make some extra pennies! But whats the harm in having the fun and making the pennies with bit seriously ! As you have mentioned it may be quite possible that the removal of certain threads , might have made some influence on my ratings! Thanks for your response and kind support! May God bless you!
