on request from ElicBxn, who asked if i could share my recipes for quick and simple great summer time drinks, smoothies, popsicles, jello...all using tea!!! i will start off by posting 2 first recipes...and anybody who wants to add or request something, just add your 2 cents here :) i tried this recipe yesterday and it was a lot of fun. kids will love it too! take a standard box of jello gelatin, apple-flavored (it's hard to find though!). before making the jello, brew up a hot flavored tea. the one i used was black tea with apple, cinnamon and almond chunks in it, but you can find something mroe simple but just as yummy! steep the tea a little longer than you normally would. 5 or 6 minutes should be perfect. if the jello packet says to use 250ml of boiling water, replace the same amount with the brewed tea. prepare gelatin according to the packet instructions (all you're changing is tea instead of water). for extra TEA flavoring, you can replace both the hot and cold liquid content with tea, though i find the flavors marry better if you only use half tea/half water. this would also be great if you add in small slices of fresh apple! recipe number 2 is for a punch type drink. brew a pot of rooibos herbal tea. there are millions of varieties, but i chose one that has rose petals, orange blossoms, lemon peel and cinnamon. add to the tea: half the amount of what you've brewed (ie if you have 2 cups's worth, add 1 cup of the following): refigerated peach juice. add a can of frozen concentrated orange juice. add 1/2 a can of cold water. optional, you can substitute the 1/2 can of water with club soda or ginger ale for an added 'sparkle' ;)
