when youre sick, maybe fever or cough and colds, do you take what medicine is available in your medicine cabinet or tend to get doctors advice to give you better prescribed medicine? or do you have it check to really find out what it is...
my mom's been having abdominal pains, i started with weekly attack, thenevery other day then it went to daily attacks already, during those time, she doesnt want to visit the doctor thinking that its only spasm/gas pains...so we only let her take antacid...later on, its not working, then we found out that its gallstone and already need operation...
thats a lesson we learn, not to take anything just yet and get doctors advice right away...what about you?

Usually I don't like taking any medicine. At first I will drink more water or try to sleep well to see whether I can recover in few days. If not, then I will take medicine by myself. If I'm still sick, then finally I have to go to see a doctor.

I agree with you. Usually I drink more water and get more rest. Most times that works. If not, I try to clean up my diet by cutting out processed foods and eating mre fruits and veggies. Some of the over the counter medicines used to make people feel better sometimes do more harm than good.
I think of colds as the body's way of telling me to slow down and take better care of myself.

Hello, daryljane, when I am sick, if it is just a fever or cold, i will prefer to stay at home and take some panadols, most of the time ,i will recovered soon. I do not like to go to see the doctoe because I cannot get the medicines from the doctor straight away ,he/she will just give me a presciption and i will have to go to he chemists to get the medicine by myself,it is too trouble when I am sick. Most of the time, the medicine in the presciption is similar to wha i have at home.

i see...mostly, for mild illnesses like cough and colds, i guess we all have medicine available already at home..and we also prefer to stay at home and get more rest.

I don't like to visit doctors. The line is always so long and the nurses are always so unfriendly. May be it is just happened to my panel clinics, but a few bad experience had told me enough, the doctors often tot that we are just making excuses for taking medical certificate so that we could skip working. I dont like visiting them again, just go to pharmacy buy the medicine and take my deserved rest at home.

For a fever or cough, I'd like to have the medicines at home, because I know what the doctor will say, and which prescription they will give me, drink lots of water, have a good rest. That's all. Only if I really feel unusual pain of uncomfortable, I have to go to doctor then. I have some experience like waiting for 2 hours to get a general Aspirin.
