women were not allowed to wear slacks to class. Actually we weren't even supposed to wear them on campus! The school I attended was located on the Oklahoma plains where the wind blows all the time. One winter it was bitterly cold, several degrees below zero and the wind was blowing about 15-20 miles an hour. One girl came into class wearing slacks. The professor told her to go back to the dorm and change into a skirt. She told him, "I will do that if you would be willing to do something first. Roll your pants legs up to your knees and stand outside for five minutes." He motioned the girl to sit down. After that we were allowed to wear slacks when the weather was bad!
