Have You Ever Had A Tea Party?

Every year on the Saturday before Mother's Day, the women in my family go to church for a tea party. It is all very nice and elegant and we have a lot of fun. It has become a tradition for us. Although, I don't have a mother or kids, I still enjoy attending with my family. My seven nieces help to serve and we have little snack foods with the tea, like fruit and finger sandwiches. Every one brings a tea cup and a prize is given for the most unique cup. They also give a gift to the woman with the most unique, although, I never wear a hat. They also give a gift for the youngest mother and the woman with the most kids. Last year, my niece won for the youngest mother, being eighteen and my sister won for the most kids, having seven. It is a great time to fellowship with the other women of the church and get caught up with family and friends.

I think that the only time I have every had a tea party would be when I was little. Playing with my little dolls, and the little kids Tea Party Set! LOL :) Your traditional tea party sounds fun! Can I come?? Just kidding! :) I hope that you have a wonderful time and win something. Maybe you can try to wear a hat just this once! :DD You have inspired me....maybe we can do it! :)

I have not had one, nor been to one that I can recall. But what a wonderful idea!! This is what makes memories, I think it is a fantastic tradition. Sort of like a family reunion for women. Thank you for sharing this with us, you have truly made my day brighter! :)

that is very nice. i would love to have to start it here in our place. in the philippines, we don't really have tea parties, except maybe for the elite ones who have adopted many of the westen practices, but not for the majority of people. but that is a good idea of bonding with friends.
