I was cleaning my closet tonight and found two cans of spaghettios. Long story involving a greedy step-son. I looked at the bottom of the cans. Both have best by June 5 2006 on them. The can is intact, no outward buckling or anything. Do you think they are still safe to eat?

Uh Oh expired spaghettios! Is there a consumer info number on them you can call? If you were planning on donating them to an organization, I don't think they would accept them. If you were planning on eating them, open them up and see if they are discolored or smell "funny". Personally, I would just throw them away. PEACE

I actually threw them away already. They only cost $1.50 to replace and since I forgot they were there, obviously I don't eat them that often.

It is probably okay to eat, but if you don't want to eat them, then don't. Like you were saying you threw them out, and now you can buy more if you would like. You could always donate them to a food pantry as I was saying they are probably not bad, and as long as there aren't any bulges then I think it is okay. Pablo

For the cost of 2 cans of spaghettios, I would probably say to just suck it up and buy new. That being said, my guess is that they are most likely still okay. I think that the companies must put an earlier expiration date than is actually true, to protect themselves from the ever litigious consumer.

Gosh, I am not sure but I would think it might be okay. I guess the only real way to tell is to open the can and see if it looks or smells yucky. I found a website that might help you. http://www.a1usa.net/gary/expire.html

I don't think I would eat it. That is a little to far past the date if you ask me, Just my opinion though.

I wouldn't trust it.Sometimes a product will have a 1-800 number to call with any questions. Is there one on that? If so maybe you could call and find out if you could still use it.
