Most of us have memories of being scared of monsters under the bed or in the closet, but what was the single most frightening experience of your life?

My scariest experience was about a nightmare that I had when I was 5 years old. I dreamt that my bedroom was on fire. When I woke up from the nightmare, I found that my lamp had been knocked over by my cat and there was a hole in the lampshade where the heat from the bulb burnt it.

Getting hit by a car when I was 12 riding my bike. I was thrown about 30 feet and believe it or not I had no injuries except for a few scrapes. Can you believe that I think my guardian angel was there watching over me or something.

You were hit by a car and didn't have any broken bones or anything? That is far to be tossed and only have scrapes. You were lucky. That must of been really scary at 12 years old. Glad it turned out good for you. Thank you for your reply.

My daughter stopped breathing in May and I had to perform CPR on her while my husband called EMS. I was a nurse many years ago, so I knew everything that I was doing, but when it is your own child, it is a whole different story. She is fine now

I have several. One was when my son called me and said he had been in a car accident. Another one was when my husband and I were at home one night watching TV and someone tried to break into the house.

When I was in college, my boyfriend at the time had a friend who we always partied with. This friend did not allow people to stay the night at his house (he still lived with his parents) because he said he had a family ghost. Now, this friend was of the type that you could never tell if you should take him seriously or not. He finally had a party at his house, only inviting the usual suspects, and we were going to stay the night. We actually didn't drink that much that night (or at least, I didn't!). This friend put us in an upstairs bedroom that was a nursery at one point. Well, the first problem was that the door to the room was locked from the inside. I just figured he was messing with us. We went to sleep and all was well. At some point in the middle of the night, I went to get up to go to the bathroom. As I sat up in bed, I looked straight ahead, and there, standing next to the crib against the wall, was a man in a suit, watching me. I knew instantly that it wasn't a real person, so I lowered myself back into bed, threw the covers over my head, turned over, & hugged the boyfriend to me as tight as possible. In the morning, my boyfriend did much the same to me, which was unusual in that he did not do that in bed. He told me later that he also saw the ghost, just watching us.

Mine was when I was in a car accident. I wasnt hurt bad but just the accident itself was so scary. The car that hit us hit us so badly that it made our car move bout 40 feet. It was so scary. I was only 16 at the time so i thought it was pretty scary. thats the only scariest experience i have.

That sounds very scary. How old were you when it happened? I'm glad to hear everything turned out okay for you. Car accidents are such a scary thing. I heard it's safer to travel by plane more than by car. Can you believe that. Thank you for your reply.

OMG I couldn't handle that. That must of been so scary for you. Did you end up finding out who broke into your house? That would be so scary. Especially to see knives sitting there on the counter. Thank you for your reply.
