The worst thing to do is lie in bed and fret about not sleeping. I get up and leave the room and read or do something like re-run LIGHT TV shows or computer surfing that is boring until I get sleepy. Then I go back to bed.

It would help you to turn off the light. A dim room stimulates sleepiness. If i want to sleep but can't after 30 minutes or 1 hour of lying in bed, i read a book. It wouldnt take 2-3 pages for me to fall asleep.
