All the crazies are out in force today!!

I am a 911 dispatcher and I work midnight shift. I always get my share of wacky people calls, but on my way home today, boy oh boy. I wear a uniform, so I have a Police patch on my shoulder. I was driving by a man standing on the side of the road drinking a beer (at 8 am in the morning mind you) He decided to flick me the middle finger until I couldn't see him anymore. I guess it was the police patch, I didn't do anything to the guy, so it really boggled me. Then I get to a stop sign and the nose of my car was just a little in front of the sign. A lady coming the opposite way stopped dead and started yelling at me to back up. I said sorry, and motioned for her to go ahead. She sat right there and refused to move. All the while making faces and gestures. I mouthed to her not to be ridiculous and to go. She just sat there!! Her daughter was in the car, she was probably 20 or so, and the woman at least 50!! The daughter looked like she wanted to crawl under her seat from embarrassment. Finally this woman backed up 10 feet and told me to go. I was tired, so I just went. She then whipped out behind me and started to follow me!! I was never so happy to get home in my life. I'd like to know where these people come from?? Anyone got any "crazy people" stories they'd like to share??

LOL, monkey, you must be so adorable that all those crazies are out to play a prank on you. I'm sorry...I know there's nothing funny about what happened to you. I remember just the other day whilst looking for a parking space at Mc Donald, there's a Mercedes blocking the space. I use my car horn to signal the driver that I'm going to park my car. To my amazement, a boy of 15 or 16 years old climbed out of the car, gave me a dagger look, mouthed some curse words and gave me a dirty finger. I simply lifted my eyebrow and gave him a dazzling plastic smile. All the while, my mind was conjuring some ways on how to deal with this brat. Now that's one crazies that I can't tolerate with.

sounds about right. You should have seen this woman !! I know I was stopped exactly "right" but I apologized as I was pre-occupied with the "finger" man, so I didn't stop right on the line. However, she was in no danger and wasn't even there when I stopped. People just amaze me sometimes.

I hope your week has got better! Working as a nurse we get our share of strange ones too but you just laugh at them later on! A friend of mine had a patient tell her all about her "fungal" infection in the middle of a shopping mall once in quite a loud voice I'm led to believe.lol

Wow, that was really a tough day! I'd like to say I've never had anything like that happen but unfortunately I have. This is just one incident of many. One day I was driving down this residential side road with a speed limit of about 25 miles per hour. I was just driving along minding my own business and feeling pretty relaxed when I realized I was having a hard time not tail gating this car in front of me. When I looked at my speedometer it said I was now going about 10 miles per hour. When I realized something funny was going on I took a closer look at the occupants of the car ahead of me. They were a couple of teenage boys and they kept looking back at me with kind of a sneer on their faces. I guess this was their idea of a funny prank or maybe they thought I was someone else (someone they didn't like). Anyway this went on for blocks but I did have the last laugh. Their car was much wimpier then mine so I dropped back and when they weren't paying attention I floored it (after making sure there were any people out near the road of course). I could hear their engine screaming as I passed them but they couldn't stop me from getting around them. hee hee
