I woke up during the night and couldn't get back to sleep so I flipped on the TV. There was a movie with Kathy Bates as a middle aged woman who idolized a singer nicknamed the "Lark from Lark." She had been married for 25 years and her husband -- played by Dan Akroyd -- was asking for a divorce. At the same time, the singer was murdered in her city and her dwarf (the character's self description, not mine so please don't correct my PCness) daughter in law was having a breakdown. Ms. Bates character decides she needs closure and travels to Europe to attend the singer's funeral. On the plane she meets Julie Andrews who pops up a couple of times to solve every crisis by bursting into a rendition of "Getting to Know You." In England, Ms. Bates meets the singer's sister's -- one played by, I think, Lynn Redgrave -- and the singer's (male) lover and his two friends who have taken over the singer's estate. The family wants him off the property so they can turn it into a museum and ask for Ms. Bates help in getting rid of him. And that is where I fell asleep. Does anyone know what the name of this movie is?
