To Relax or Not to Relax- That is the Question?

Today is a nice warm and sunny day here in Toronto. My partner wanted to go out back and just sit there and relax and enjoy the quiet. However...I can never seem to relax and was looking around for things to do. When I could not really be productive...I got bored and came inside. My boyfriend keeps telling me to relax and others in the past have told me the same thing...but it is not in my nature. Are you the type who can relax..or do you have to be doing something all the time?

I am perfectly fine with doing nothing. Life is too short in my estimation to always be busy. When you think about it, how many of those busy times do you really get anything meaningful accomplished? How much time is wasted trying to keep busy and not getting anything done? For me, I can stay busy, but often little is being done that is of any value. Taking time to sit still or relax can be the refreshing energizer you need to give yourself greater energy. When you do nothing, your mind often gets quiet and it is at those times when your greatest ideas and inspirations come into your thoughts. If you like being out in nature, then that is the perfect setting to do nothing. Besides, no matter how much you get done, there is always something else to do. You will never finish everything. So unless you make relaxation a choice, you will never have time for it.

In your case if you make an effort to try to cool yourself down you might be able to enjoy the pleasure of being calm and peaceful. We can only really relax in a truly tranquil and untroubled atmosphere. Perhaps this is what our exhaustive body needs most. Sure, I believe I’m the type that can relax all the time lol.

It might take me a while to wind down if I'm keyed up about something but I can generally relax after an hour or so of trying to unwind. The bit I really hate is after I have gotten myself settled and calm and then some major drama errupts amongst my housemates and I have to go through it all over again. It is worst when thast happens at bedtime, as it makes getting to sleep very difficult!

I live in Oshawa so yes I can say it was nice today but I didn't go outside either. I was either cleaning or sitting on here. I find it hard to relax too. If i am sitting on the couch I have to be doing something, like writing or going through papers, but I guess that is my relaxing.

Why'd you want all that adrenaline and other stress hormones running through your body all the time? Grab a cup of something warm, listen to music, and relax out in the sun. It's good for your heart, or something healthy like that. Me, personally, I do so much work on a daily basis that any free time I have, I spend it dozing off or trying to relax.
