I was just wondering if any of us, have had anything published yet. . . It doesn't have to be a book, It could be a magazine article or story. . . And if you have had something published, Do you have any secrets to share with us struggling authors.

(I feel like I've already responded to this, but I can't find my post anywhere . . . strange.) I'm self published, but it's not a book of writing. Rather, it's a series of books containing pages from my art journals. It's been a very enlightening experience compared to getting words published! As far as writing and publishing goes, I've been published in a handful of magazines (The Writer, Do! Magazine, Venus Magazine, etc.) and it's a LOT of hard work. In addition to that, I've been published by numerous sites on the web . . . over 100 articles spread out all over the place. Again, it's a LOT of hard work. I've also been included in several books (Writer's Market, Creatively Self-Employed, More Real Stories of Spiritual Communication, etc.) Query, query, query. I'm still working toward my goal to have a *real* book published and I'm confident I'll get there someday!

I recently had my first short story published in a local magazine. I know I don't have the credits that the others have but I hope to some day. I am in the process of editing my first novel and hope and pray that it gets accepted by the agent that was recommended by a friend. It's been my dream and at my age I am getting too old to wait any longer. LOL!

I'm a published author. I have 4 books available and numerous articles that have been published as well. What I always tell aspiring authors is "never give up" and keep submitting no matter what. During those times you are suffering writer's block, write something else for a while and then go back to it. Or take a walk or a break. I have several articles published on this topic that you and others might be interestested in reading. They are all here at my Associated Content page http://www.associatedcontent.com/user/10892/regina_paul.html

Yes, I had my first book published last year through Published America. It is a poetry book, You'll Learn to Love Me, consisting of 56 poems and 67 pages. You can visit my website www.freewebs.com/noreenannjenkins and read about it. My advice is never to quit and just keep on writing because dreams do come true. Mine did. Now I am working on my second poetry manuscript. Noreen Ann Jenkins
