My wife and daughter & daughter-in-laws are nurses. In your case 10 years exp is a big thing. In the dark world of ours your profession is suppose to give a little light to the people suffering around you. So keep the light burning.

morning care... I love greeting my patients in the morning and assist them from performing personal hygeine to preparing their meals. I used to work at the Coronary Care Unit and Cardiovascular Recovery Room for 2 years and there's nothing more worhwhile for me than be able to help an individual to get by even just for another day. That regardless of their infirmity, you get them to smile even on the simplest things.

This is recpectfull job if you do it with love and if it`s well-paid. Here in my country the salaries or the nurses and the doctors are very poor:-(

a part of nursing i really love is that of taking care of the aged. we assigned one time in "home for the aged" and i felt so sad knowing that they were being abandoned by their love ones who should have expected to love them and take care of them till their last breath. and as a nurse, we should understand their needs coz in every stubbornness they are manifesting, deep inside of them, they are so much in pain that everyone could barely see.

I am a NICU nurse (Neonatal Intensive Care) I absolutely LOVE it! Even though there are poor outcomes with some deliveries, for the most part it is a very rewarding job. The babies can't talk, but it's wonderful to be able to soothe an uncomfortable infant. The parents aren't always the most grateful initially, but usually it's because of the fear of the unknown with their newborn. I have been a nurse for almost 27 years now and have never, ever regretted it. Outside of my first year post school, I have always worked with children. Nothing is sweeter than loving on a baby:)
