When eating out, do you have a difficult time deciding on what to order?

Does anyone other than me have a difficult time deciding on what to order from the menu? How do you go about making a final decision on what to eat? I love chicken but there are usually a whole bunch of meals with chicken in it. I can rarely make a decision right away as I love steaks and chicken and some seafoods. Some of my friends can take only a minute or two to decide on something but I usually need more time than that.

I also have that problem. I am not a picky eater, so usually on a menu there are too many choices for me to choose from! Often before I go to a resturant I try to look at a menu online, so I can get some thinking in ahead of time. Silly I know, but then at least I won't be holding up the rest of the table while I decide. And I don't have to focus on the menus so hard I ignore the person I am eating with :-) Lucky for me many resturtants have menus online these days.

I try to narrow down my choices to a few before making a final decision. There are certain foods that I love that are on most menus, like chicken or steak. Sometimes I prefer eating a salad and sometimes seafood. That is a good idea to check out the online menus before going to make it easier to decide.

I have that same problem when we eat at home too. I can never decide what I want. Its even worse at a restaurant because they usually have more of a varity than we do at home. I'm usually the last of our group to decide. To make a final decision, Ifigure out what I don't usually get at home alot and then I try to pick from those choices. I tend to go with the cheaper one.

I too sometimes have a hard time deciding on what to eat at home but not as much as when I eat out. Restaurants have much more to choose from and different styles of meals. I am usually the last one to decide on what I am going to get. The other day me and my friend went out, he already decided without looking at the menu. LOL

Sometimes I do, it depends on which restuarant and if I've been there before. there;s one mexican restaurant near us where I always get the same thing, because I love it so much. And at places like Indian I usually stick to things like Butter Chicken as I'm not very good with anything that's too spicy, my brother always tells me off for getting the same thing, but if I know I like it then thats what I want! If it's a completely new restuarant then I usually try to get something I woldn't normally have. Last time we went Italian I got roast duck with mangoes and strawberries, it was a bit strange but very nice! Choosing dessert is always hard as well lol I love chocoalte so usually want the one with the most chocolate, but everything else just sounds so good as well!

It does not matter what restaurant I go to, i always have a hard time deciding on what to get. I agree that choosing a dessert is difficult as well as all desserts look good to me. I do not think that I have been to a restaurant where I made a choice quickly. LOL

I do have a pretty hard time deciding what to eat. They have so many great items on menu's and I really like a lot of different things, so coming to a conclusion is hard. If I've been to a place before and I really like a certain item, I'll just stick with that as I know what it tastes like and it's so much easier than sitting trying to figure out what I'm going to order.

I have not been to a restaurant, other than fast food places, where it was easy to decide. Olive Garden, Applebees, Macaroni and Grill and many others have so much to choose from and I like most types of foods.

*LOL* I'm the same way. I'll usually debate over 3 or 4 things on the menu before I finally just randomly pick one and cross my fingers that it's the right choice. Unless of course, I'm going to a restaurant because I'm craving something I've had from there before, but that's not often, since I like a bit of variety.

It is nice to know that I am not the only one who has a tough time deciding. Most of my friends can pick things out easily and tease me about taking so long to order. LOL There is always more than one thing on a menu that I have interest in.

Yep even if I think I know what I want before hand, sometimes I look thru the menu and then can't decide what I want anymore! I always have this problem, and I just pick at the last minute when the waitress/waiter comes back to take our order, that way I can't delay any longer and just pick something.

When I go out to eat, I am pretty easy going and pick something quickly..Like you I love Chicken..but I also love fish..all kinds. I love steak but have yet to find a restaurant that does require you have a chainsaw to cut the steak. I love to go to Ponderosa...or the Golden Corral ..as it's a all you can eat buffet..which means you can look at the whole spread and choose anything you want from the buffet;)+

That used to drive me crazy so now when we are in the mood to go out and eat we pick the place we want to go and have a solid idea of what we are going to order before we get in the car. Nine times out of ten when the waitress or waiter comes to take our drink order, we already know what we want to eat so we end up saving a lot of what would otherwise be wasted time looking at menus.

LOL....I hate it, too much choice for me, I could stand there for an eternity (so it feels like) just deciding. Then after all that I usually just grab something that I have had before or something familiar.

I tend to eat often at my "regular" places and tend to be a creature of habit. For instance, I know when I go to Olive Garden I'm going to order the fettuccini alfredo. Local Italian restaurant, always gnocchi. A certain bar we go to... always the wings and homemade fries. LOL So I really don't have issues of knowing what to pick! LOL

I usually like to try different food or try new ones that i haven't tried. I find it hard to order as i have a big stomach hehehe anyway, i usually go for food that is non-veg like chicken, mutton, pork...etc. I hate spicy food so i make sure that the food that i am ordering does not contain too much of spice in it.

I have too a difficult time deciding on what to order. I even get annoyed when the attendant or waiter is already by your side, waiting on your order. And when you say, "Ah, I have not yet decided." And he would suggest this and that, and finally, you would decide sometimes on something you didn't really want too. But just for the sake of him, leaving you with your thoughts and to avoid the embarrassment of taking so much time, you just choose what he said.~~lol But now, especially when my daughter is with me. I just say politely I'll call him/her when I am ready to order. Because if I have a difficult time deciding for myself. How much more with a 4 years old by my side, who has decided to order the whole restaurant.~~lol (^^,)

Oh my god, I have the HARDEST time deciding on what I want to eat why Im at a restaurant. I have hard times decideing on what I want when im home as well, but restaurants are the worst. Im in love with food, I love everything, and when I look at menus I want to try everything on there! I usually take about 15min just deciding on what I want to eat, and it usually gets picked by whoever im with because I can never decide :-)
