Domain name registration and hosting ripoff

I am sure you have seen the ads where you can make huge amounts of money by joining an organization that lets you register your own domain name and host it for "only" $10 per month. They also claim that you will make lots of money by encouraging others to join this program, giving you lots of commissions. Did you know that paying $10 a month for hosting and domain name is pretty expensive?? Also, I would like to know if there is anyone who really makes big money off this deal? I think it's just hype. I have my own domain under this organization's same "unique" suffix, but not with this company and I host it very inexpensively. I spend way less than $120 a year. I don't get credit for affiliates but I really don't care. I tried promoting for affiliates in the domain name program and didn't even get one. It's way too expensive and not nearly as unique a deal as they promote it as being.

What can you get for $10 these days? I am still a bit of a novice with regard to making money online, but with a bit of work on my part I am getting over $50 in commissions every month from GDI and this amount is growing every month. It's easy to call something a rip off, especially if you have not had instant success, but they have been around for about 7 years now, I think, they are upfront about the costs, you can have your own web space free from adverts and much more... I sense GDI is going to be around for a long time, when other business opportunities have packed up and run! I would agree that if you want to have more than one domain this can be an expensive solution, but other options are available like Kiosk where you can host many domains for a small monthly fee and this is also another excellent income opportunity. If you shop around you can register a domain name for a whole year for 20.00 and less if it's not a .com It is a ripoff to pay $10 a month because I can get hosting for less than that with all the extra platforms included, and email too.

Well I'm making a profit of about $500 a year and this figure is growing every month, so I for one am quite happy to pay the monthly fee for the opportunity I have been provided with. You have to remember GDI gets less than $5 a month from the payment and the rest is paid in commissions and bonuses, it is a business opportunity at the end of the day and they do actually provide a tangible product unlike many other opportunities on the internet today.

Last I knew, in order to register a domain it was about $70 when you do it yourself. That may have even come down some now that anyone and everyone wants a domain name! You know what seems odd to me though... I've always thought about this... nobody technically "owns" the internet, there's not one certain place that takes charge, yet you pay one place a fee to hold the name? I don't understand it. I mean, I realize there's a need to register the domain and such but then, doesn't that mean that they technically own the internet and could be held accountable for all the goings on for each domain? Think about that one! LOL

I know what you mean. You might own a piece, but you can't own the whole thing, sort of like time share. You can register a domain for MUCH cheaper than $70 dollars depending where you get it from.
