This discussion is quite sensitive. I've come across a novel way back in high school. It depicted the story of an American youngster who was separated from his family and ended up being train as a fedayeen (freedom fighter). The book opened a new perspective for me. Before, I used to view Muslims as terrorist and the Americans as saviors. However, the author told here a story from other's (meaning: the Muslims) point of view. The question was asked: "If a visitor armed with guns and tanks, came barging into your home, kicked the door, terrorized the households and violently hurled them outside the place, they called "home", how would you react? Would you rejoice that a new occupant came in? Would you pity the old homeowner? Would you cry for justice? Would you fight back? How can you fight an army with thousand guns with just your bare hands? How can a farmer or a shepherd engage a trained militia one-on-one? Are the Isarelites the agrrieved or the agressor? Are the Palestinians the terrorists or the terrorized? Were our minds so conditioned by Hollywood films depicting Americans as good guys and the others as the bad guys? Have we emphatize with the homeless and landless?
