What is armageddon referred to in the bible?

The use of the word armageddon or Har-Magedon cannot mean that the war will be fought at a literal Mountain of Megiddo. There is no literal Mountain of Megiddo; only a mound 70 feet high(21m)where ruins of ancient megiddo are found. The kings and military forces of the entire inhabited earth cannot fit into the literal plain of Esdraelon, below Megiddo. The plain is triangular, only 20 miles (32km) long and 18 miles (29km)wide at the eastern end. The name is fitting because of megiddo's role in history. There Jehovah caused the defeat of Sisera the chief of the Caanite army before Judge Barak. The reference to Megiddo meaning the assemling of troops is appropriate because Armageddon is a world situation in which the troops and other supporters of the rulers of all nations will be involed.

Revelation 16:16 says "And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Magedon." And the battle there never actually takes place there in Rev because Jesus just shows up and wins.

Armageddon is all over the world not one specific place it will be the end of all evil Jesus will come with his army that is all the heavenly angels there are more angels than humans so many they cannot be counted. Remember what God did to Pharoh and all the Egyptian first borns and the good christians had to paint a red strip of blood across the top of the door to not have their first born killed by the angels. God has waged war on the humans before for not obeying him and he will do it again, you will be save if you will listen to his words carefully.

It sounds great doesn't it to think there will be no more pain or suffering or sickness, it will be great once armageddon is over and all wicked are destryed.
