Do you think that the Oscars are being overhyped and given more importance?How much of a role does the media play a role in it?

well ofcourse its over hyped,imagine the amount of money spent on those lovly awards and clothes and everything. it has to be hyped into a gala affair and who else can do it best than the media itself. media is the most important factor here. and it does its job pretty well ..

yes Oscars are the much much overhyped awards then any others.....main reason is the media and also the attraction that U.S gets and highly glamorous hoolywood makes it all a big show....

It suppose to be, it's the more important award ceremony in the world of cinema. And yes, the media plays a definite role in it, as industry.
