My New Mylot Routine - It may help you!

I don't know about you but I'm sometimes at odds where to start when I log into Mylot, do I answer the replies to my questions first? Do I go to my friends discussions oh and what about those who arn't in my friends lists? So I've come up with a formula that is fair and should keep everyone happy at the same time. What I've been doing for the last few days is going through the responses to my discussions, when I click to respond to a reply I also click on that persons avatar and choose one of their discussions to answer. By doing this not only am I helping my friends who always answer my discussions and I'm not helping those who don't bother to answer any of my discussions, but I'm also helping those who answer who arn't on my friends list. Obviously this isn't going to work all the time as sometimes I don't post discussions for days but it's a good theory to start with each day!

Thats a great way of doing it bizzy and one i may well adopt. I dont have a routine as such. I will start by reading all my responses and raing them, i then go to my friends discussions and get round as many as i can. However, this will take most of the day blessed be

I find when time is short, that this is a great way to reciprocate to people who have responded to you, I feel less guilty then if I don't have time to go through all my friends discussion to find one to answer! Brightest Blessings my friend, I hope you are enjoying your bank hol Monday!

That is a very good idea. I will start doing that also. I like to help those that are helping me first. I have a lot of friends in my friend area but there are only a handful that come to my discussions. This helps me go to the ones that do. Thanks a lot. This is a excellent way of doing this. Your discussion is very helpful.

Ah! Two great minds think alike, I do exactly that, because then it gives people who have BOTHERED to respond to my responses a helping hand in that I will respond to one of their discussions. I have a lot of people on my friends list who have added me as a friend but haven't bothered to read ONE single discussion of mine which I find odd! Yet those who take the time and respond to mine deserve to be rewarded. Good routine to have. You could always go back to your old discussions you have previously made and go through those my friend as I do sometimes when I have completed all my notifications from friends in my emails.

I'm the same, I've got tonnes on my friends list who never answer one of my discussions and they can't all be that bad lol! I like how mylot have now started emailing you if you get a response to someone elses discussion you have responded to and go through those generally after I've done my first bit of my routine lol! Thanks for your input!

I can be quite organised that is true, however since I've posted this discussion, I haven't had time to go through all the responses yet - although I am getting there slowly!

Funnily enough I was thinking about doing exactly the same thing...getting rid of those alerts that just bombard my email box and it is so time consuming and like you say..it is only fair we help those who actually are considerate enough to respond to our discussions and when we have more time branch out to responding to others. I also have so many on my friends lists, but not many reply to my discussions and it will be too difficult to respond to every one in a day.

To be honest I do the same thing. I always go to people's profile who respond to my discussion to find discussion to respond. This is a great way to help or appriciate people who respond to your discussions. I am really glad to know that you also do the same what I have been doing from a long time. If we all do like this we all would be happy and would be able to earn good.

Well in my eyes it helps not only yourself but others who arnt on your friends lists. I do like to support my friends still but sometimes their topics can be a bit samey samey so it does give you a chance to see what others are discussing! Thanks for responding!

that is a very nice idea..... and i agree.... now i realise... what all wrong i had been doing... now i shall go to each of my friends... and view their discussions.. and see to it that they reply back...... that ways i would be able to have kind of a conversation with them

I think that everyone has their own routine to be honest and there really is no wrong or right way to go about things but it is a good way to please everyone! Thanks for your kind words!

Hi Bizzie, I think that this is a wonderful idea and I agree with what you are saying completely I sometimes add these other members that do my responses and invite them to be on my friends list and they are very supportive of doing my discussions so this definately does work.

I always start with my friends discussions- That is what friends are for- I try to answer as many as I can. Then I move on to discussions with no responses. I always look at a persons avatar and look to see what else they are talking about and try to answer those too! I think everyone does a different thing when logging in.

Well I used to start with my friends discussions, but then I found some weren't bothering to respond to my questions, so I thought what is the point, at least this way you know who your friends are! Each to his own I guess though! Thanks for responding!

What a great and organized way to approach mylot each day! I have actually become rather overwhelmed and have been kind of blundering around each day. This has of course affected my earnings. I will give this a try! I like how it helps those who have helped you! Thanks bizzie!

I must admit I was getting a bit like this, and sometimes you can get abit lost as to who you've answered recently, then when you've had loads of responses you feel guilty for not answering them straight away - It's quite good and keeps your post running for a little bit longer! Thanks for your response!

I think thats a great idea to be honest! I usually go to Top discussions of the day and work my way through those, and then I go to Discussions my friends started. That is usually enough to keep me going and I like that routine. However I love the way you do it. It's so simple a child could do it, and it's very organized. I see me changing my routine very soon lol. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the tip. As a newbie I was trying several haphazard ways to keep up. As I am anything but organized this wouldn't have occured to me. Will make thing so much easier.

Well, I have been here for 8 months, and continue to enjoy being a member here. I like your thoughts here, and a lot of this, is pretty much what I do from time to time as well. For me, when I am checking back and responding to the discussions that I have started on here, I always go and check out the discussions of the people who have responded, and will answer at least one of their discussions they have started just as a Thanks for them taking time to respond to one of mine. This actually is a Great way to get to know others on here as well. As for the Friends list, I am sure you have noticed a lot of them ask to be your friend, and will Never respond back to any of your discussions and sometimes just choose to SPAM you which is a shame. Why not help others out in here if you are wanting them to be your Friend?

Oh yeah definately notice there are loads on my friends list that have never bothered to answer my discussions, that's one of the reasons I use this method, at least I'm helping people who have helped me this way! Thanks for your response!

Brilliant, i used to go on mylot daily it was running my life. Firstly i would reply to people who had posted in my topics then i would start a new conversation and then i would start to start on new discussions but now i do not have the time or the energy to continue doing this. I try and get online as much as possible but i also work on another few sites and recently i have fallen very much behind on what i have to do at mylot.com and the rest of the sites. I will eventually catch up but it will take alot of hard work and time to get back into a routine.

I'll have to agree I'm running way behind too, but at least I have a continuous flow of discussions to answer for the time being - then I'll post some more discussions! Thanks for your response!

it's funny that you jsut responded to my post, because I was just rereading your discussion. Interesting.... by the way, do you know how to put a picture as the profile background (instead of just a color)? I just thought I'd ask since you've been here a while. :)

Lol No sorry it used to be different, but since it's changed are can't get the background colour to change on my profile either - the black was there from the old profile - but haven't really looked into it since lol!

Wow....what an interesting way to do things here at myLot...that makes complete sense to me.....there are some of my friends who answer 90% of my discussions and I also answer every one of their discussions that I feel I can add something to....I now have mine set up on email notifications.....I at least review every discussion that is discussed by anyone on my friends list.... I like the thought of helping the one who actively respond to my discussions too...whether they are on my friends list or not...... Great idea, my friend!
