How can I make money off my website?

I'm about to open a website with stupid videos and reviews about stuff the interest me (pubs, movies, games and what not), is there anyway to make money off this? subscription to the site? advertisment? what's more effective? I mean, the server is kinda expensive plus I would like to advertise with the money and help it evolve... 100% of my earnings will go to my site, for that I'm sure.
