Tuna Noodle Cassarole is not something I grew up eating. My family is Italian...and my dad hates cassaroles of any sort! However I know it's a pretty popular comfort food and lots of people really love it....so I thought, what the heck, I'll give it a shot. I know I could just use google and get a thousand recipies for this dish, but I am hoping to get some tried and true ones. Do you make one for your chruch pot-luck that is always the first to go? Does your family beg you to make your cassarole once a week? Do you have a secret recipe, or special ingredient that makes your cassarole different from the dozens of googled recipes I might find? If you are willing to share, that's the kind of thing I'm looking for. Thanks so much!

This is one of the few things I can make. I am not the greatest cook so when we have family or friends over this is the dish I normally make. Stir teo cans of cream of mushroom soup, one cup of milk, two cups of frozen peas, two cans of tuna [drained], and four cups of cooked egg noodles in a three quart casserole dish. Bake at four hundred degrees for thirty minutes, stir. Mix two tablespoons of dry italian breadcrumbs and one tablespoon of butter, sprinkle mixture on top of the casserole and bake another five minutes. If you want a cheesey topping you just have to addd a half cup of cheese to the topping mixture before you sprinkle. You can also use this same recipe to make a chicken casserole. All you would need to do is subsitute two cups of chicken in place of the tuna.

I've never made one either! I grew up in an Ukranian Jewish family where we ate lots of eastern european foods, and not classic 'american' dishes. I do want to try to make it one day. I was thinking about looking up a recipe on http://www.epicurious.com
