Why would an all powerfull all knowing god create humans to worship him? it does not make sense.. firstly, the only reason one WANTS to be worshiped is because they feel like they did something deserving or that they are insecure. the thing is, god cant want anything because he is perfect and the only reason one wants is because one is imperfect.. and an imperfect god is not omnipotent. and we are not here for his pleasure because of what i said above and because he already knows whats going to happen to us.. then whats the point? and his great plan is for us to worship him? weak..

uhem..as logical as that sounded my good man..the only problem is....your comparing god to a human standard...and the only reason he created us was because he wanted fellowship with us..that's why we were made in THE IMAGE OF GOD...and for your information...god doesnt ask us to worship him okay??its our choice..we choose to do it..because we are very grateful for what he has done for us..and to show our gratitude we worship him..and go to church and talk to him..etc..pray to him..so GOD doesnt want to be worshipped..we do it out of our own free will....

I agree with what you had said sithlord. God gave us the choice to worship him or not. As we make choices in our everyday lives there are consquences or rewards that follows our choices. The only reason why the poster feels that God wants to be worshipped is the consqueces that happens if we don't. See God is the creator and he can do what ever he wants to do with us and that's it. Going back to the example of the potter. If he shaped his piece and decides that he wants it to look another way, he would take it back to the beginning and mold it the way he wants it to be. He doesn't need the approval of the clay before he changes it. Everyone needs to accept the fact that God is God and he can do anything that pleases him.

rabanesd what you said is pretty ignorant... "everyone needs to accept the fact that..." first of all, its not a fact. second, nobody needs to accept anything.. come on, doesnt religion teach tolerance?

If you're referring to a god, then I would say yes. Because even Satan (god of this world) once wanted to be God or equal to God. Satan want people to worship him instead of the One True God.

We worship God because He deserves it! He is worthy of all praise and adoration because He is a great and mighty God Who sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins so that we might be reconciled to Him and spend eternity forever in His wonderful presence. Words are inadequate to express our love and joy because of what He has done for us. Blessed be His Wonderful Name - Jesus!

no basically we sorship god because we have to believe in someone who will try to keep us in the right path of life.. though we know god wont punish us for crimes still we revert from doing certain things which are considered bad.. its jus a belief to keep ourselves submitted to someone so that we do good to others and be good!!
