Tornados, hurricanes, typhoons, earthquakes, volcano eruptions, tsunamis...

Here is Florida, we are less than one month away from the beginning of hurricane season. A Kansas town just got blown away by a tornado. Is there anyplace on earth that doesn't have some kind of threat from nature from time to time? Someplace you could say is safe to live?

I don't think there really is. But, I live in Marion, NC. . . and I think it's pretty safe from earthquakes, and tornados and hurricanes and tsunamis. Even volcanos. We just had high winds a few weeks ago that blew out some businesses windows and downed lots of trees that torn down power lines, but, nothing at all like a tornado. They were saying on the news what a big deal that storm was, (we've only been here 1 year) so I got the impression that was the worst it gets. Praise God.

I do like NC. You've got the ocean and the mountains within driving distance of anywhere! It would be a good place to live. I think your city is a beautiful area--in the mountains isn't it?

Yes, we are in the mountains... actually where we live is sort of on the way east out of the mountains, but we are still protected from a lot of the bad weather! I just sent you an explanation about Shareapic and how to get your link. I think we were writing each other at the same time!! LOL!!!

I don't think there is any places in the world where you can escape from natural disasters. It seems there is a lot of unfold things right before our eyes everyday. Maybe, there is indeed some place thats free of those disasters. At the moment, I can't think of one that can give us a safety net.

Hardly! For instance, I live in NY and people think they are safe from earthquakes..nope...wherever you have mountainous regions you probably are at risk for them..in fact a story was told long time ago, that one time crews were building another subway line in Manhattan and they came across a giant chism and fault line...and some twenty years ago, NYC did actually have a minor earthquake..just like people in CA are always waiting for them, NY can experience another one..and this time it might not be so minor--I sometimes think nature's destruction can be far more deadly then anything mankind can cook up..we can control the destruction..we can't with nature..
