There is nothing added to fruit when it is froze. Individual pieces of fruit are frozen below -10 degrees in a couple of minutes, so that there isn't any loss of nutrients Data from the USDA shows that selected fresh and frozen fruits have relatively equivalent nutrient profiles. Frozen fruit products are nutritionally comparable to the fresh versions. The likely have the same benefits.

You are right actually. My girlfriend is a diabetic so she studies these things so that she can keep her blood sugar in range. Bananas is the number one answer to that question but there are a few others that come in at a close second.

Thank you for the information. I thought maybe they added something to the fruit before they freeze it. That's the reason why I eat fruit, for the nutritional value. I'm thinking about posting a question about which fruit has the most natural sugar. I bet you would know!

I prefer fresh when ever possible! Though sometimes when I go out picking strawberries or brambling with anyone I will freeze some of the fruit for use over the next few months. I love to bake fruit pies, and the frozen fruit are ideal for that. Nothing to beat that homemade taste. But fruit for eating straight or putting into fruit salads has to be fresh! I wont use frozen in fruit salads.

I never use frozen fruit anymore for the simple reason that when it defrosts, it actually tastes like it had been frozen. I much prefer fresh fruit. I'm not sure nutrient wise if there is any difference, but taste wise there's enough of a difference for me to just keep buying fresh instead of frozen.
