How strange are your neighbors?

I live on a cul-de-sac that has 10 houses. At the end of our street we have a single mom of a 6 year old boy. Last Thrusday, May 4 2007, for some unknown reason she decided to put up Frosty the Snowman and Santa. These were the big yard decorations that have blows in them to inflate them and lights to illuminate them at night. Thankfully she took them down last night. I have know idea why she put them up but we all thought this was very strange on her part. What strange and weird things do your neighbors do?

*falls over in a fit of giggles* omg that is TOO FUNNY!! and I guess around here I AM the strange neighbour really I mean I'm one of the younger ones for starters and I'm a big city girl rather than a country girl so for the farmers and small town country folk around here i'm definately something different with my blue and purple hair, unusual style of dress, and a babydoll head sitting on our outdoor lamp-post etc... LOL i love the idea of what she did...I'd do it just for fun though for example I have vowed to buy dozens upon dozens of lawn flamingos and put them up in interesting places throughout our property (like having one up in a tree facing the road, wearing shades and peeking out from the leaves, one on the porch roof smokin a ciggie etc etc, dress some of them up and whatnot..Why? Cause it entertains me really...I've always been odd like that LOL

Very cute. I can actually appreciate people like that. I am from Ann Arbor and tons of people do that type of thing just because.

LOL well I've always been somewhat "out there" which I must admit makes my husband a little nervous at times cause I'm a tad unpredictable (maybe a little MORE than "a tad" ;-)) but ya know..I like being that way, partly becuase it entertains me and damn it a girls gotta have a hobby LOL and I lvoe to laugh and partly becuase if my silly antics put a smile on someones face then its even more worth it :-D

I have to admit, I am the strange neighbour. We have a very large garden, so while we are 'the' neighbour for quite a few people who have small gardens adjacent to ours, I am surrounded by seven other houses. I have loud kids, barking dogs, a husbamnd who likes to use power tools well into the evening...I think we are n o one's favourite neighbour. All the poor souls who suffer beside us suffer in silence. They are all very quiet and peacable. I assume they must hate us.

LOL, that is the funniest thing I ever heard. I would have never thought about "the" neighbors saying that. LOL

hum.....not sure at all. It does seem pretty strange that she would do this you never know why people do the things that they do. She may have done this as something special with her son.

My neighbors aren't really weird. I don't talk to them much, but I am so busy. The only thing that I have noticed is that he is in a Scotland music band so he does occsionally leave in a kilt, but that isn't strange as I know why he does it. Sounds like your neighbor may have had a reason for doing what she done as she didn't leave them up long. Maybe she done it for the child.

I had a weird neighbor too once...a while back when I lived in this very nice neighborhood and everyone was real nice that was near our home...she lived across the street and I don't see her much at all one day she and her son were screaming at each other in the middle of the street and then they took the conversation to my front porch ...I peeked out the window and was like what the heck you doing in front of my house and on my porch...I didn't know if I was suppose to turn on the light or not because it was 1am in the morning and they were waking up my child and so I didn't turn on the light and she the mother pulled off her son's shirt and just started hitting him and tearing his shirt and I was like what the hell...all I can remember hearing from them was a lot of 4 letter words which I didn't want my child to hear so I turn on the music and turn on the lights to tell them that they were too loud and we are at home ...they then walked back to their own garage and continue the fight...

We moved here last May,it is a cul-de-sac with about 15 or so townhouses on it.The day we were moving in this little girl, who is 6 came up to our truck and asked us if she could help and I said no.I did not know her,it was a school day and she was not at school. Then she got in the back of our U-Haul and was looking at our stuff. Then I met a lady about 4 houses down, who is married, has an 11 year old son and twin girls that are 7.Her mother-in-law lives with them to watch the kids after school. She seemed pretty nice and still does as well as her son.One evening I was talking to my next door neighbor and I was trying to make it quick what I was saying because he had just came home from work and was tired and wanted to get inside. And one of those twin girls kept interupting me and I asked her to stop. She went home and told her grandmother that I yelled at her.Her grandmother came down to my house and told me to never say anything to her grandaughter's again, that if I don't want them to interruptme I need to stop my conversation and go knock on their door and tell them to tell her, that Iam to never tell those girls anything.Lol.The grandmother after that went and told all the other neighbors not to let my daughter play with their kids and to stay away from me that Iam weird. If my daughter gets invited to someones house then the twins get made because they weren't invited and tell that person that my daughter said something mean about them. So,then when they had a water event at the end of the street the mother said that my daughter couldn't come, because those girls had told her that my daughter had said they were mean. Then when we have friends come over and take my daughter somewhere they get mad, because they were not invited too.Even thou their mom wouldn't let them go with strangers. So,if they were invited and couoldn't go then my daughter shouldn't go either. One day,I went outside and the girls and some other girls were outside and I asked them if they had seen my daughter, because we had talked, but I got busy and forgot where she was.Bad me!They all wispered amongst each other and ran. With the help of a girl on another street we found her and I simply told those girls that it was not very nice to simply answer me.And one of them ran home and their father came out there and said that I had no right expecting them to answer me or to yell at them, that it is my daughter who is supposed to tell me where she is going to be at.I explained to him that I had forgot. He didn't care and told my daughter's friend that she had no right to be on our street. When I told him that I did not yell at them and there were people backing me on that,he said that they don't lie! Excuse me they are human, not Jesus Christ and 7 years old, they do lie sometimes! They said that they did not answer me because they were afraid of me.I said well if your afraid of me then why do you talk to me and knock on my door. Now they told all the kids in the neighborhood that I said no one can come in my yard. When we put Halloween decorations out, they were tore up and our outside water spicket was turned on last week. Also those twins grandmother said that my daughter cannot knock on their door, that if they were going to come out and play theyed already be out.
