Argh.. work is so boring now!

So Friday afternoon I tried to log on to MyLot to check things out and to my surprise, the screen came up blue, with a message that said, "The webpage cannot be viewed. Please use the internet for personal use on your own time". It turns out we just got a brand new server so the IT guy figured he'd block personal use webpages while he was setting it up.
I was so mad, my job has the capacity to be the most BORING job on slow days, and I like surfing the net to help pass the time when there's nothing else to do.
I figured out a way around it though. I just write topics that I want to start in my corporate email and then email it to my personal email account! Genius! :) Then I won't forget what I wanted to talk about before I get home, and I can just copy and paste them into the appropriate interest area.
It's still boring, though. I can't respond to discussions at work anymore. :(

same thing here...i do check mylot from time to time when i get bored at work. Good thing that mylot is still not blocked in our server just like what happened to friendster and it took most of our happiness in the office. Now i havent opened my friendster account in 3 months and i lost interest there. I am still crazy with mylot and i visit this site during lunchbreak and after office hours.

aww..so sorry to hear that you're not able to access mylot from work :( ..i hate it when the IT dept blocks some websites, thus we aren't able to access it anymore. it's not like we don't get our work done! at work, there are times when i get bored too..i dont think i can live without the internet and my YM, it's the only thing that keeps me sane at work! lol..

That's too bad, and they didn't even let you know they were going to cut off your internet access? Some work places just want to sqeeze every drop out of you, not allowing you to relax for a minute to relieve boredom. At least you found a way around it, sort of.
