The way I relate to my earthly father does not in anyway reflect how I relate to my heavenly father. I have a somewhat decent relationship with my step-father, but with God it's t he closest relationship i have. I love to God for guidance and advice while my earthly father i don't talk to very often.

We love because He first loved us. If anyone says, "I love God", yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And He has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother. - 1 John 4:19-21 Maybe it's time you showed your love for God by reaching out to that person, even if he is your stepfather.

That seemed kind of hard, Rarrrg. Not talking very much doesn't mean that there's hard feelings there. Some relationships are toxic and we don't need to involve ourselves in them just to prove that we love God. Keeping a healthy distance is different from the condition of the heart towards a certain person.

I politely disagree on this. Dad is not GOD.

I'm not saying that your dad is God. Far from it. I guess the first step in analyzing the premise is answering the question, "How do you relate with your father?" Once you've answered that, find out how you relate with God. Then compare the two ways in which you relate with these two different beings. Do you notice any similarities?

What is the source of this theory?

No biblical reference comes to mind at this time. Feel free to comment on how much you find this to be true, if at all. Thanks!
