we are always putting sprays, gels, some kind of chemicals on hair, face, and skin. We have rubs for this and patches for that... tons of things for our faces and nail chemicals? Do you think its all too much and we are just way too far from natural? D o you think that we use too much of everything and that may be a contibuting reason for all the alergies and other problems?

you are absolutely right...all chemicals cumulate and can cause health problems...worst is nail polish and hair colors...also in our homes... I don't use chemicals to clean my house...just all natural products like salt and vinegar...soda...lemon...

I think you may have a point. There is so much we don't know as consumers about all products we use everyday. We don't know if they are harmless or if we are slowly killing ourselves with chemical overload. I find myself using less and less of them; that is the products that you put on your hair and skin. It would take several decades of long term studies to know for sure if these products are harmful or not. By then, the damage is already done. I trust these products less and less.

I have no doubt that we are experiencing chemical overload. Many years ago, when I was teaching at School of the Air, we had a family enrolled with us, who lived on Kangaroo Island. They had moved there from Queensland. All members of the family had the syndrome allergic to the twentieth century (ie, chemical overload). When we visited them, we were not allowed to use deodearnts, perfumes & hair shampoos & many other substances. They lived in an isolated house built with materials that were less likely to attract dust & mites. The young boy had to carry an oxygen cyclinder around with him.
