What did they tell you thunderstorms were when you were little?

I've always liked thunderstorms. Most kids are scared of them, but I never have was. I like the lightening and the thunder and hearing the rain. Everything always smells so clean after a storm. When I was little they used to tell me it was the angels bowling and the thunder was the bowling ball hitting the pins and the lightening was when they got a strike. It was a cute story, though I knew it was just a story. Today, I like to think of storms as God's way of cleaning the earth and air. What stories were you told about thunder and lightening?

I got that story of angels playing bowling too!
But as for the lightning, it was a picture taken of God and the angels!!!
I remember asking if they are using polaroid because how will they develop the pictures there!!! hahaha

unlike many kids i was fascinated rather than scared of lightning and thunder. i used to run out of my house when i hear thunder strike. my mother had told me that thunder and lightning occurs when there is a war in heaven. now even if i know its just a story i still keep wondering whether there is a war up above when thunder strikes.

Never been afraid of thunderstorms ever.
Funny that I thin we all heard the same story.
My oldest was terrified of them and still gets gets nervous when they happen He is going on 34 years of age.
His grandmother used to him the Thunder is going to get you if you don't behave. He used to run and hide as a youngster in a room without windows. LOL
Told my other 2 to ignore him and come watch. Crazy cause the others aren't afraid at all

I was told the same thing when I was small. That the angels were bowling and one of them had gotten a strick. I love the smell of the earth after a good rain. It smells so good. I sit outside of my house after a nice rain and take in the smell.

They used to tell me it was God bowling and the thunder was the ball hitting the pins. I love the rain and how clean it makes things smell. I love sitting and watching it rain and listening to the thunder and lightning.

whats to be scared of thunderstorms!!!
in fact they are just too good to miss
i always enjoy the gr8 weather of thunderstorms and rain its too much of the fun to miss. the dark skies really provide u gr8 relief from the scorching heat

My mother always told me storms were the angels bowling. My dad said it was angels driving trucks on wooden bridges. I like storms, too, as long as they aren't damaging. I love watching the lightning at night. It can be so beautiful.
