I never get what I want for Mother's Day!

Gift wrapped up with a bow - This is a beautifully wrapped present. It has blue wrapping paper and a lovely white bow.

Nope I'm not greedy, really. I just hate it when my hubby spends money on a gift that I don't need or want. Nope I'm not mean either. To me it's just a waste of money and his time. I'd so much rather just spend the day together, maybe go to a movie, or even stay at home to watch one or play some board games than to receive a present. How about you? What do you want for your day moms? Do you have the same issue as me or feel that buying something isn't necessary?

Normally the only gifts I get are the ones my children make for me and I love those dearly. My partner has never bought me a gift. Nor have I asked him to. He knows that if there something I need or want I will just go out and buy it myself. I do however like for him to say Happy Mothers Day or Happy Birthday just so I know he cares. Happy Early Mothers Day !!

I love my children's hand-made gifts. I save every one and every card from them! That's the best part of being a mom. It is nice to feel appreciated like you do by your partner on your special days. Happy Early Mom's Day to you too!

With my ex, I made a wishlist on Amazon.com and gave it to him. He was a big spender and loved to give gifts, so I gave him the list to guide him toward what I wanted. If I didn't, he tended to buy me what HE would want. lol He tried though and that's what counts.

Yes it's the thought that counts so true. I do appreciate him and all he does for me.

There have been many years that I got just what I wanted :) Of course I've been a single mother for 15 years so when the kids were younger I got in the habit of buying myself a Mother's Day gift - often it was the same thing or similar to what I got for my own Mom :) This year I'm getting myself a flat of patunias (flowers) they were my Grandmother's favorites and every year she would ask if I was going to plant some - I would and usually potted a couple for her. She passed away a few years ago and I've been really missing her this past year so am doing this for Grandma! It's what I want!

Oh what a wonderful ministry. I thought our church had everything there could be but we don't have something like this - I'm going to suggest it. I know there are tons of single mothers in the church and it would be so very nice to have a special luncheon for 'us'. LOL - don't know where you are in the US but would love an invite :) but would also love any tips on how you run your luncheon - is there anything special you do? Is it like potluck or is it funded? When do you have it, day before Mother's Day or some other time? Anything else :)

I was a single mom for 10 years. And the hand made gifts from my dd were treasures to me. I'm happy you're treating yourself. You deserve it. This is the first year we haven't had our Single Mothers Day luncheon at my church. This is a ministry that I felt called to do. Our church is without a Pastor now and we're struggling a bit. I've been up and down with my health so I decided (with prayer) not to do it this year. I pray we'll be able to do it next year. I'll send you an invite!
